I have a wound on my thumb and my band-aid is just a bit too tight. It made me aware of my heart rate. Just for grinzies, I thought I'd check it out. 76bpm.
According to this site, I'm in the healthy range: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/heart-rate/AN01906
Interestingly, when I've been in the sauna for 30 minutes, my heart rate usually reaches 140bpm.
According to this side: http://www.thewalkingsite.com/thr.html my target heart rate is my 220 - my age = 176.
With that as a measure...
Warm up is: 88 - 105
Fitness Zone is: 106 - 123
Aerobic Zone is: 124 - 140
Anaerobic Zone is: 141 - 158
Red Line is: 159 - 176
I wonder if anyone has done any studies about the aerobic benefits of the sauna? Because when I sit in the sauna, my heart rate climbs pretty quickly and I'm in the 120 - 140 range for an extended period of time.
